<- Joel Smith performs at a benefit gig for Thom in 2000

Joel Smith is an extraordinary guitarist however he is better known for his music writing prowess which includes such underground hits as I'm Gonna Buy Me A Gun and Spuds, a love song about potatoes.

Original Hip Pocket Band members Joel and Thom collaborated on many musical projects throughout their 30 year friendship.  Joel received International notoriety when his song (Rock & Roll) Wakes Me Up was released in the United States, Europe and Israel.  Featured on the top radio stations in the NY market, Rock & Roll Wakes Me Up was the Hip Pocket Band's brush with fame (if that's what you want to call it.)  Joel also played with many other local acts and recorded with Thom and Larry on the Almost Human project.

Never at a loss for words, Joel is as comfortable with a good yarn as he is with his hammer or guitar. Must be his Irish blood.

Dr. C (Kevin Crutchfield) - The Doc making a house call at Sliding Door Studio ->

Dr. C is one of the most popular and in-demand singers Westchester county and soon (we hope) everywhere else.  The son of a preacher, Dr. C blends his gospel roots with R&B, rock, soul, reggae, and almost every other variety of popular music to create a unique style all his own.  To see and hear Dr. C perform is to witness one of the great unsung musical heroes of our time.

Dr. C currently fronts the Ace All-stars, which also features top studio and touring musicians Bob Mayo and Mark Rivera as well as Larry Hoppin of Orleans fame.   Doc was also the lead singer for the Hip Pocket Band where he met Thom, Ken and Joel and where his reputation as a great singer and front man was solidified.

Known affectionately by his friends as the "Rock n Roll Doctor", Kevin is at ease with virtually any musical style you can throw at him (though I wouldn't ask him to rap if I were you.)  Visit Kevin's web page.

<- Larry Migliore - grabbing a little R & R

Larry and Thom grew up together in the same neighborhood in New Rochelle, NY.  Though Mr. Migliore currently lives in Hastings, he still considers New Rochelle, NY his home town.

A very talented lead vocalist and writer, Larry fronted many bands throughout his music career including Eric Von Zipper and the Flies (with Thom and Ken), Danz and Moonlite. He also sang with The Cordials and The Mello-Kings and formed Almost Human, an all original act on which he and Thom collaborated.  Larry also "noodles" around on guitar and drums.

Larry and Thom penned "Down and Dirty," which was published by DSM Producers (worldwide) and Warner Chapell (USA).  The song was featured in the NBC movie "Into The Arms Of Danger" starring Morgan Fairchild.  Their song "Everywhere I Go" was just used in the MTV show "Dismissed".

Larry also performs under the name Larry Neil and continues to write music for other artists as well as TV and film.  He is looking forward to even greater musical productivity now that he has retired from his day gig - lucky bastard.

Notice the resemblance to the real Eric Von Zipper?

<- Eddie Denise - laying down a track in his studio.

Eddie Denise is a multi-talented musician/songwriter with a long history of musical accomplishments.

Born in Yonkers, NY, Eddie has played with numerous Westchester bands such as Sidewinder, The Hip Pocket Band, Where’s My Socks?, Rubber Soul (A Beatles duet with Steve Worthy), The Cats Pajamas and with his son Jayson in “The Fam’ly Jewels.” He has also performed with Ronnie Spector

Eddie studied at the Westchester Conservatory of Music and currently teaches electric bass when not gigging. He also plays many other instruments including guitar and keyboards, has a great tenor voice and is a published poet.  Did I mention he has perfect pitch?

Eddie was last seen riding his Harley somewhere in Colorado.  Please visit Eddie's amazing web site at www.eddiedenise.com.

Ted Muller  - with a shameless plug (though you have to admit, this photo is much better than the rest on this website) ->

Ted, the photographer/production assistant for The Bam Bam Project, is a close friend of many of the musicians featured on the CD and was also a very close friend of Thom's.  An accomplished musician himself, Ted hosted some of the greatest Saturday night jam I can remember.  It is even rumored that Kevin Dillon and friends once paid a visit to Ted's jam.

Ted often hosts the annual New Years celebration where we burn the Yule guitar.  Unfortunately, our best source of firewood is no longer with us and his was the last Yule guitar to go.  Perhaps this is a tradition whose time should also come to an end?  As Ted will tell you, strange things happen when you burn the Yule guitar.

<- Maura McCabe - sporting a beautiful smile to go with her beautiful voice.

Maura and Thom played together in the Cats Pajamas and collaborated on several other musical projects over the past fifteen years.  Maura has an extensive array of credits including several popular advertising jingles on which she sang lead vocals.

Maura has a beautiful voice with an exceptionally warm tone - perfect for her rendition of Neil Young's Harvest Moon.
